Brighter Days

Change of pace for me back to a shot I took earlier this year down at Wilson’s Prom. Whilst I appreciate all of the seasons the  weather down here at the moment is particularly bloody cold, bleak and slightly depressing so posting this image of this magnificent part of the world on a sublime morning is somewhat uplifting and a reminder that winter will pass soon enough.

  1. Nice shot AB, great for tourism collateral.
It does look inviting, and I cannot wait for warm days like it.

It will all be ruined soon down there, with the toll booth going, no quality control.

It is a very nice shot from a world class NP that is for sure. Interesting point Tom… my annual pass expired about 3months back and consequently due to the announcement, I didn’t renew or return over that period. but now it ‘saves’ me a bunch of money per yr, but i’m sure we will pay/make up that revenue shortfall or more in some way !

      • I’m sure that we’ll be paying for it in some way Tone, I never minded paying the entrance fee at the Prom as I’m there for a hike mostly but hated the one at Mt Buffalo. Thought that was bullshit when every other National Park (other than the Prom) is free to enter.

    • Hope not Tom, I guess that there might be more day visitors to Tidal River but no more people across to the other side as the entrance fee was always included in the $7.50 per night it costs to do the hike, plus most people would think of a 40km hike as tortune anyway.

  2. Hi Andrew,

Looks like a great place for a beer, bbq and a dip. 🙂 Great shot.

    • Thanks Jamie, it would be a great spot for a BBQ except you’d have to walk 20kms with it! Bit of a bugger about that! hehe
